Boxing and Mixed Martial Arts Doubleheader To Feature Special Session of Fight Promoter U.
Fight Promoter Roy Englebrecht announced today a Special Session of Fight Promoter University to be held in conjunction with his just announced boxing and mixed martial arts doubleheader, set for mid December at the Irvine Marriott.
“With the UFC set for a November 21st show and the return of Tito Ortiz, which was also our original WinterFist 3 mma show date, I didn’t want to compete with this show, so decided to move WinterFist 3 to December 18th,” said Englebrecht. “This was the only open ballroom date the Marriott had, and it just happened to coincide with our boxing show on the 17th, so I thought, hey let’s take advantage of this unique two shows in two days, and hold a special session of Fight Promoter University.”
The four day FPU session will begin at Noon on Wednesday, December 16th and conclude at Noon on Saturday, December 19th. 10 guest speakers will be featured during the session, including Bjorn Redney, the founder of the Bellator Fighting Championships; Jeremy Lappen, the CEO of CAMO; the brand new sanctioning body for amateur mma in California; Loretta Hunt the news editor of Sherdog.com; Arnold Berber the matchmaker for Roy Englebrecht Events, Dean Lohuis the former Chief Inspector for the California State Athletic Commission, and Fred Vallejo a FPU II graduate who is now successfully promoting full time in Ohio and Texas.
“With as many people who have attended past FPU sessions interested in mixed martial arts as well as boxing, and maybe more, to then have both a boxing show and a mixed martial arts show back to back, to use as laboratories for students to learn how both sports are promoted and run, was just too important not to offer this special Fight Promoter U session,” continued Englebrecht.
All students at this December FPU Session will get to work at both shows, experiencing how to set up a venue for boxing and mma, ushering, fighters walkins, etc. The four day FPU session will run $1,500 which includes all instruction, meals, hotel room for three nights, 260 page FPU manual, and FPU credential.
