In what might be the most impressive line up of guest speakers in the three year history of Fight Promoter University, FPU founder Roy Englebrecht announced today that Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker has agreed to be the Opening Session Keynote Speaker as the sixth installment of Fight Promoter University was announced today. Coker will join a roster of 14 other experts from boxing and mixed martial arts promotion for FPU VI set for August 13th thru 16th at the Irvine Marriott in Irvine, California.

“With what Strikeforce has done in the past two months to become the second biggest MMA promotions company in the world behind the UFC, it is only fitting that Scott speaks at FPU,” said Englebrecht. “Now throw in 13 other great guest speakers, including Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer who has spoken at every FPU Session and MMA legend Frank Shamrock, a superstar both in the ring and as the owner of a multi million dollar fight related business, toss in our SummerFist 3 show, and it will be the place to be for anyone wanting to get into the fight promotions business.”

This four day conference where students get both classroom instruction and hands on experience in all aspects of the fight promotions business will be held at the Irvine Marriott Hotel the same location for the Saturday, August 15th SummerFist 3 Mixed Martial Arts show. All FPU VI students will have a change to visit with and question all guest speakers, as well as observe and learn all aspects of a pro show Weigh In and participate as a staff worker at the SummerFist 3 show. Plus, the cost for the FPU VI, which includes lodging and all meals, will not be increased and will be the same $1,595 cost as FPU V!

Since the first FPU session was held in February of 2006, a number of FPU graduates are now actively promoting boxing and mma shows around the country. Joe Cavallaro with his World Champion Fighting in Boston…Gregg Holtzman with new MMA shows in Pittsburgh…Brandon Foster with boxing in Arkansas…Donna English doing her Rock Solid Promotions in Houston…Barry Meyers in Las Vegas and drawing thousands to his amateur MMA shows…Chris Smith with MMA in West Virginia…Kahren Harutyunyan doing boxing at the Playboy Mansion…Fred Vallejo in Toledo with his Rumble On The River boxing shows…and Jen Campbell in Indianapolis, just to name just a few. And most of these had never promoted a show prior to attending a Fight Promoter University session.
